It’s National Tea Day so it’s time to talk about these tasty treats. The famous Tea Cakes from Martino’s Bakery in Burbank (1926) date back to the Walt Disney Studios since 1940. They were served in the Tea Lounge, a respite for the Inkers and Painters. They took tea breaks - not coffee breaks - because too much caffeine would interfere with their deft work. With some culinary CSI and the help of a professional baker, my pal Johanna, we recreated the “top secret” recipe. It’s posted on eatlikewalt.com
