As construction (and deconstruction) begins at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, this poignant 1955 image of Walt on his Mark Twain, sailing his Rivers of America, surveying his Tom Sawyer Island, gives me solace that his Disneyland has preserved these attractions for all of us to enjoy.

If these chairs could talk…BFFs Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks had dinner and a movie together nightly on these chairs and TV trays in Carl’s Beverly Hills home. I was overwhelmed with emotion seeing this exhibit at The National Comedy Center in Jamestown, NY (also Lucille Ball’s hometown). It’s easy to imagine the widowers cracking each other up to the point of tears (or spit takes) and pounding their trays in hysteria. The American geniuses had a unique friendship and love affair ❤️❤️
